“One day I’d like to…..” What’s implied here? It suggests something we’d LIKE to do, but in the future, when some barrier is removed. These barriers, such as procrastination, fear, and overthinking, are often self-imposed. We tell ourselves things like “I’m not good enough” or “I’ll do it when I’m fitter, wealthier, or retired.”
Why do we allow self-imposed obstacles to stop us when we know what we want? Are these barriers real, or is it fear of moving out of our comfort zone?
JK Rowling faced numerous rejections but persisted and became the world’s most highly read author.
What frustrations are you experiencing? Are you unhappy with your weight, life, or relationships? Are your finances worrying you? Is clutter stifling you? Do you feel you have no time for what you truly want?
We all have things we would like to change or improve.
What would it take for you to change and live the life you dream of?
I’m going to share three strategies to help you break out of your comfort zone:
1. Let your imagination be free. Emerson said, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” Visualise your dreams vividly and positively.
2. Understand the knowing-doing gap. Life doesn’t give you what you want; it gives you what you believe. Set your internal GPS correctly, and be clear about your destination.
3. See your dream come alive in your mind in full technicolour. Imagine living your dream, being the star of your mind movie, achieving your goals, and experiencing the feelings of fulfilment.
To overcome limiting beliefs, you must become aware of your thoughts and replace negative habits with positive ones. Your mind is powerful; don’t let negativity corrupt it.
Write down what you really want. Focus on what excites you and take immediate steps towards those goals. Changing on the inside will manifest change on the outside.
